123RF contributor commission is dependent on the contributor’s level - similar to iStock.com (Review). If you are able to sell more in the previous 12 months, than your level increases and so does your commission rate. The main difference between iStock and 123RF, is that the latter offers123RF Faved a 30-60% commission rate versus a mere 15-20% on iStock. The uploading process is also straightforward and the images do not require categorization. Payout starts at $50. 123RF also provides an opportunity to mark 5% of your portfolio images as "faved".Popular on 123RF By doing this you are directing views to your best shots and increasing their search ranking. This is a great way to increase your sales. This micro stock is definitely an up and comer!

Downsides?

The contributor area on the site is not well designed. For example when you want to open your financial statistics, you are always required to fill in "captcha" - this is annoying. Also, it is impossible to find statistics on one image as most downloads count for a period of a year or more awhile all statistics related to your downloads are presented in a monthly timeframe. FTP is separated for images and videos - this is unusual compared to other micro stocks. The Bridge on 123RF When contributing footage, make sure your keywords are separated by a coma, I usually keep all keywords in Adobe Bridge and when I copy and paste from there, I get the keywords separated by a semi-colon. Make sure you double check this - most other stock sites accept the semi-colon as a keyword separator, but 123RF doesn’t.

Find cheap stock images

123RF is good for buyers that only need a few, low resolution images from time to time. In this case you can buy 20 - 40 credits for $20 - $38 and get any low  resolution image for one credit. So, for web use you get each image for as little as $1 - $2.

Overall 123RF is nice to use and is a growing micro stock offering a great price/value ratio for buyers and an easy working environment for contributors.
